Ho Chi Minh City, 26th Jun 2013 – Bridgestone Vietnam announced the launch of its latest range of ECOPIA tyres. The new range of ECOPIA tyres includes the EP150 and EP200, for use on small to medium-size passenger cars, and the EP850 for sports utility vehicles (SUV) and crossover utility vehicles (CUV). All three products will subsequently be made available across several markets in the Asia Pacific region this year.

 

 

Ho Chi Minh City, 20th Jun 2013 – Bridgestone Vietnam announced the launch of its latest range of ECOPIA tyres. The new range of ECOPIA tyres includes the EP150 and EP200, for use on small to medium-size passenger cars, and the EP850 for sports utility vehicles (SUV) and crossover utility vehicles (CUV). All three products will subsequently be made available across several markets in the Asia Pacific region this year.The EP150, EP200 and EP850 tyres are range of new and improved products that have been developed to better suit the needs of its consumers and the environment, especially in terms of fuel economy, safety and reliability, white promising a longer lasting tyre life. Independent tests show that the EP150, EP200 and EP850 provide up to 4.3%, 8.1% and 3.9% better fuel consumption in comparison with conventional tyres, leading to up to 7.1%, 11.1% and 3.0% reduction in CO2 emissions respectively.

 

 

ECOPIA – Eco-friendly technology
The EP150, suits to use on compact to small-size sedans, features a new tread design with rib-linked blocks that enables uniform ground contact when braking, and enhances stopping power even in wet conditions. Its optimized 3D block shape also minimizes block lift off which means unique technology - the ECOPIA compound, together with weight optimization, the EP150 is able to achieve both advanced low rolling resistance and eco-saving benefits without compromising the safety and wear life of the tyre.
 

The EP200, suit for use mainly on medium-size sedans, uses Bridgestone’s latest technologies in its new tread design where its leaf-shaped blocks feature both the high-angle lug grooves that aid in inhibiting block deformation, as well as a reversed Z-shaped design that helps to stabilize ground contact, In addition, the new ECOPIA compound II applied in the EP200 also makes use of Bridgestone’s new Nano Pro-TechTM process which uses silica more affectively, inhibiting heat generation, and leading to further reduction in energy loss and lowered rolling resistance.

 

 

The EP850, Bridgestone’s first ECOPIA tyre meant for on-road SUV in the region, inherits the popular performance of highway luxury (or highway touring) category of tyres and combines it with environmentally-friendly performance. Consumers who have previously used Bridgestone’s DUELER H/L683 for SUVs can now switch to the EP850 for better ride comfort and less noise, while enjoying improved fuel efficiency with its lowered rolling resistance.

 

 

Moving forward, Bridgestone Asia Pacific intends to further expand its line-up of ECOPIA tyres in the region in order to provide a wider range of products to suit the diverse needs of its consumers.
 

About Bridgestone’s ECOPIA tyres 
The ECOPIA brand of tyres is Bridgestone’s line of environmentally friendly tyres that combine both higher fuel efficiency and safety. It is characterized by reduced rolling resistance, achieved through the ECOPIA compound, which means it can travel a longer distance with the same amount of energy as appose to a conventional tyre, hence saving on fuel consumption.
