Ho Chi Minh City – 19 April 2016, Bridgestone Vietnam and UNESCO SECC co-organized Earth Day 2016 with the theme “Keep river and lake clean for a better life” on 17 April 2016, Phu My Hung, District 7, Ho Chi Minh City. This is the third year Bridgestone Vietnam has held this event, shown the business philosophy of Bridgestone when all activities were always towards the sustainable development of community. Toc Tien singer and VJ Quang Bao – two ambassadors of the event and thousands of volunteers participated in event to raise environmental awareness.
Earth Day 2016 focuses on healthy activities related to water bodies to raise the awareness of the importance of water to people and desire to limit littering, as well as raw sewage into rivers and lakes in Vietnam. It had 3 main activities: 1000-person flashmob including deaf-mute people and primary students, Game Green Run – Saving the gods of sea and Crazy Dance.
About Earth Day 2016, Mr. Hiroyuki Saito (General Director of Bridgestone Vietnam) shared: “We always commit the sustainable development with society, so for three consecutive years, Bridgestone Vietnam with UNESCO SECC co-organized to hold Earth Day event to spread the environmental message. From some activities like Green Hour activities at Ho Chi Minh City and Ha Noi to the big event like Earth Day, our passion is raising the awareness of protecting environment and conveying the belief that “Vietnam will be cleaned and green” to everyone, especially the youth – who always try to change for the prosperious country.”
