Ho Chi Minh City (xx.11.2023) - Bridgestone Vietnam proudly introduces, for the first time in Vietnam, tires manufactured in Hai Phong featuring ENLITEN Technology as the official OE fitment for VinFast VF 6. ENLITEN serves as the core technology in creating sustainable products, significantly optimizing tire weight and reducing rolling resistance, thus enhancing longevity and resource efficiency while reducing environmental impact. The production of these tires at the Haiphong plant is made possible through the corporation's investments, aligning with their commitment to sustainability.

Anticipating the trend of electric vehicles in the global automotive market in general and in Vietnam in particular, ENLITEN technology boasts two key advantages: optimizing its weight per unit life enhances material efficiency, supporting ecological sustainability, while its very low rolling resistance aids Electric Vehicles in covering longer distances with a single charge, thereby contributing to reduced CO2 emissions and greater energy efficiency. 

The pivotal roles of tires in relation to electric vehicles.

In addition to the usual functions such as load bearing, engine and brake transmission, vibration absorption and steering, when choosing tires specifically for electric vehicles, other added factors are also worthy of consideration, such as performance and comfort (exceptional performance, noise and vibration), environmental friendliness (rolling resistance and wear) and safety (braking and driving performance, durability). It depends on the target vehicle model and user needs and preferences that features or added value of tires may vary.

For electric vehicle tires, rolling resistance is an important factor in evaluating energy efficiency and environmental friendliness. The definition of rolling resistance is the resistance that a car tire experiences when rolling on the road surface. The main cause of this resistance is tire deformation, traction and friction with the road surface. Higher rolling resistance can increase tire wear and the higher the energy required to overcome that resistance. Therefore, tires for electric vehicles need to have lower rolling resistance than tires for internal combustion engine vehicles, because electric vehicles use motors with high torque when starting and require the ability to operate long distances.

Bridgestone's advanced ENLITEN technology not only focuses on reducing rolling resistance but also places attention on optimizing load index and various aspects of tire performance for electric vehicles. Bridgestone's ENLITEN Technology to Pioneers as the First OE Fitment for electric vehicle tires in Vietnam

Bridgestone's ENLITEN technology used for producing VinFast VF 6 tires has emphasized the importance of focusing on energy efficiency and environmentally friendly standards in the modern auto industry, especially in Vietnam. Producing tires that meet high-tech standards specifically for electric vehicles right in Hai Phong not only proves Bridgestone's production capacity with global quality but also contributes to the development of a durable electric vehicle industry that is locally sustainable.

Bridgestone tires use ENLITEN technology and are specially designed for the VinFast VF 6 electric vehicle line with 2 models: Alenza AL01 235/45R19 and Alenza AL01 225/60R17. Tires for electric vehicle engines have a higher load index than tires for internal combustion engine cars because electric vehicles have heavier engines. Specifically, both types of tires for the VF 6 have a load index (LI) of 99, higher than tires for internal combustion engine cars with a standard load index with LI = 95 (Comparison based on tires of the same size for electric vehicles and internal combustion engine cars, manufactured by Bridgestone). Tires for electric vehicles integrating ENLITEN technology perfectly meet the challenge of high load-bearing capacity compared to tires for conventional internal combustion engine cars. In addition, the energy efficiency of Bridgestone's Alenza 001 235/45 R19 is currently rated A (best) by the European Product Registration Authority (EPREL) with low rolling resistance.
